Refund / Return Policies

Avis allows customers to cancel before their pickup time and request a refund online. To request a refund, click on the “Reservations” tab located on the Avis.com home page and select “View / Modify / Cancel.” After providing your Country, Last Name, and Confirmation / Agreement Number, you can proceed in receiving credit back for your purchase. Alternatively, you can log in to access your rentals page. Refunds take approximately seven business days and will be issued to the card used to make the reservation.

A processing fee applies for refunds. If a cancellation is made 24 hours prior to the reservation pickup time, a $50 processing fee will be incurred. If a cancellation is made less than 24 hours prior to the reservation pickup time, a $150 processing fee is applied.

If you wish to cancel your reservation, you must do so prior to the time of pick-up. If no cancellation is made and the rental vehicle is not picked up, no portion of the payment will be refunded.

Early returns of car rentals do not result in any portion of a refund.
